Consider the following...
1.
A room is affected by
orientation and light. Not all paint colours suit all rooms.
After purchasing your tester pots, paint the colour onto a piece
of white card to get a true colour representation. Then affix
to the wall and leave for a couple of days. Look at it during
different times of the day, you’d be amazed what may look good
in the morning can seem lifeless in the afternoon.
2.
When updating or
changing any room, consider, in detail, what furniture is going
to go into the room, the purpose of the room and how much
“stuff” there is to house. Consider everything at the outset,
you can never do too much planning and the results of careful
planning always show in the end result.
3.
Bedrooms should be
tranquil places and this is achieved by getting the storage and
colour scheme right. Luxurious materials and understated luxury
combine to make your private space feel beautiful and special.
It is no good having one standalone wardrobe (even if it is
fabulous!) if you have enough clothes and shoes to fill
three.
4.
Always consider
lighting carefully and, where possible, try to include a
mixture of task, overhead and ambience lighting. The more
choices of lighting that are included the easier it is to change
the function and ambience of a room.
5.
Consider the style and
colour of the entrance to your home and in particular the
hallway once through the door. The hallway sets the scene for
the rest of your house and although it may be small it does not
have to be less interesting nor welcoming.
