For those selling newly renovated or existing homes they too
can benefit enormously from the experience of a professional
interior designer who can assess any space with a creative
and “design eye” to evaluate and improve. Whether we like
it or not we judge people, places, things almost immediately
and without realising it. Make your home count, make it
stand out and be judged positively from the very first
viewing. Principal rooms: kitchen, lounges and master
bedrooms are very important. Assess your home in a critical
way and try to visualise it as an outsider would. Be
honest with yourself; are your spaces cluttered, tired and
in need of a new lease of life? Has that rug seen better
days (even to you!)? Imagine what it looks like to a
prospective buyer. “They’re not purchasing the contents” I
hear you say. No they are not, but if a viewer cannot see
past a grubby, cluttered and outdated décor, it is hard to
visualise anything other than what is apparent.
The expertise of an interior designer can pull schemes
together which are visually mismatched. Less is more is a
good approach but empty and soulless is not. Bold accent
colour can give life and warmth to a room but don’t overdo
it. You don’t want the house to look like an artist’s
palette. Try to use harmonious colours with a hint of
accent colour. When looking into the benefits of an
interior designer there are many to choose from and initial
consultations are often free. There is no doubt that a
little money spent on a professional designer can reap
larger financial rewards and a quicker house sale. Now,
isn’t that what you want ?
